Privacy policy
The short version. Gobblebug version 1 keeps your lesson progress on your device only. There is no account. The app does not show ads, does not include analytics, and does not collect personal data. This website does not set cookies, does not run analytics, and has no signup form.
The rest of this page is the same thing, said carefully, so it can be checked. Google Play asks for a privacy policy address. This page is that address, once it has been reviewed.
Who we are
Gobblebug is a learning app for Android, and this website (gobblebug.com) is where we describe it. The operator is [Legal name of the operator — add before publication].
Privacy questions: hello@gobblebug.com.
The app, version 1
The first public version is built so that:
- Your progress is stored on the phone. That includes lessons completed, points (XP), lives, your streak, and anything held in the points shop.
- There is no Gobblebug account. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or a password.
- There are no advertisements, and no advertising identifiers.
- There is no analytics software, and no crash-reporting software that sends information to us.
- The app does not send us your progress, the code you write, or your answers.
If you uninstall the app, or clear its storage, that on-device progress is deleted. We cannot restore it, because we never received a copy.
[Owner: confirm this list still matches the build you submit. If you add accounts, ads, analytics, cloud save, crash reporting, or a waitlist, change this policy first.]
Google Play
The app will be distributed on Google Play. Google's own terms and privacy policy cover your Google account and the download. We do not receive your Google account details from the app.
Google may show us aggregated figures in the Play Console, such as how many times the app was installed in a country. Those figures are not a list of people.[Owner: confirm you will not turn on Play Console features that identify users.]
If you email us
If you email hello@gobblebug.com or press@gobblebug.com, we receive whatever you put in that message, including your email address. We use it only to read and reply. We do not add you to a mailing list. There is no list.
We keep that correspondence only as long as we need it to deal with the message, and then we delete it. [Confirm a retention period before publication, for example 12 months.]
You can ask us to delete an email conversation by replying to it and saying so.
This website
The website is a set of static pages.
- It does not set cookies.
- It does not use analytics, advertising, or social-media pixels.
- It does not embed videos, fonts, or scripts from other sites. The typeface is stored with the website.
- The sample question on the home page keeps a tally of lives and points in the page while you are looking at it. Refreshing clears it. Nothing is saved on a server, and nothing is written to storage in your browser.
- There is no email signup. The section marked as a future launch list does not accept an address.
We intend to host the site on Cloudflare. A host processes technical connection data, such as an IP address and the page requested, in order to deliver the site and to resist abuse. We do not use those logs to identify you, build a profile, or advertise.[Owner: confirm the host before publication. Cloudflare's privacy notice is at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/]
Children
Gobblebug is written for adults. It is not a children's app, and we do not market it to children. The app is not directed at anyone under 13. We also do not knowingly collect personal data through the app, because the app does not collect it.
Selling data
We do not sell personal data. The app does not give us personal data from your lessons to sell, share, or use for advertising.
Your choices
Because the app does not send us your progress, there is no profile to access, correct, or export. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage, removes the progress from the device.
If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, use hello@gobblebug.com.
Changes
If the app starts collecting data, showing ads, or creating accounts, we will update this page and the date above before that version is released, and we will describe the change in the Play Store listing. The date on the draft notice is 22 October 2026.
